Cousteau Tells Business, Leaders “No More Time for Bla.Bla.Bla.”

(Blue Ocean - June 11, 2015) -- Today is the 105th birthday of Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Born June 11, 1910 Jacques-Yves Cousteau AC was a French naval officer, explorer, conservationist, filmmaker, innovator, scientist, photographer, author and researcher who studied the sea and all forms of life in water. He co-developed the Aqua-Lung, pioneered marine conservation and was a member of the Académie Française. Cousteau died at the age of 87 on June 25, 1997.

Marine Biologist, Trailblazer, Shark Lady Eugenie Clark passes at 92

(Blue Ocean - February 25, 2015) -- It's a sad day for us Ocean People. Pioneer, mentor, thought leader, author, TV star, Women Divers Hall of Fame honoree and much-loved "Shark Lady," Eugenie Clark died this morning in Sarasota, Florida. She was 92. 

Eugenie was an American marine biologist who fell in love with sharks as a child with her nose pressed against an aquarium tank, and later became famous for her shark research,  National Geographic articles and TV specials on the much maligned species. Eugenie changed the way we look at sharks.

First Lady of Diving Lotte Hass has passed

(Blue Ocean Network - January 19, 2015)  -- Viennese-born diving pioneer Lotte Hass passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday, 14th January 2015 after a happy and multi-faceted life. Charlotte Hildegard Hass was the wife of the Austrian naturalist and diving pioneer Hans Hass and worked in several of his underwater natural history films.
